Three categories of pensioners will receive an increase in payments starting from September 1.

Starting from September 1, 2026, three categories of insurance pension recipients will receive a recalculation of payments, all changes will be carried out by the Social Fund automatically, without submitting applications. This was announced on August 7 by State Duma deputy, member of the Committee on small and medium-sized enterprises Alexey Govyrin in an interview with RT.

The first category will be pensioners who turned 80 in August. They are additionally given a monthly allowance for care, and the total increase will be about 11 thousand rubles. This amount will be indexed annually.

The second category is citizens who were diagnosed with disability group I for the first time in August. Their fixed pension payment will be doubled. At the same time, as Govyrin noted, a repeat recalculation upon reaching the age of 80 will not be required for such pensioners, since the increased payment remains.

The third category is pensioners who completed their work in August. According to the deputy, from September they will receive a pension, taking into account all indexations missed during the period of work. The amount of the increase will depend on the length of service and accumulated pension coefficients. Govyrin added that payments will be received within the usual time frame for the delivery of pensions.

As it became known from the data of the Social Fund of the Russian Federation on August 7, the number of pensioners in Russia reached almost 40.5 million people. According to the department, as of July 1, 2026, 40.475 million citizens receiving pension payments were registered in the Social Fund system.

In July 2026, the average pension provision for non-working residents exceeded 35 thousand rubles in seven regions of the Russian Federation. The highest rates were recorded in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (AO) — 43.9 thousand rubles. In the Nenets Autonomous District, the average pension was 40 thousand.
