The State Duma named the dates of mandatory salary increases for employees

Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, explained that state employees' salaries should be indexed once a year, but in the real sector of the economy, the decision is made by the employer.

In conversation with Lenta.Ru On Thursday, August 6, the parliamentarian noted that, according to the law, indexation cannot be lower than the inflation rate. She recalled that the lack of a salary increase for several years may be due to the difficult financial situation of the company. If the employer can prove that indexing would put the organization at risk of closure, he will not incur serious liability.

At the same time, Bessarab stressed that against the background of record low unemployment, employers are interested in retaining valuable personnel and, as a rule, raise salaries for in-demand specialists. In her opinion, if an employee has not had their income indexed for years, this may indicate that they are considered easily replaceable.

The majority of respondents (63%) named urgent tasks as the main reason for the need to stay in the workplace, NSN notes.
