Five people drowned in reservoirs of Irkutsk region in a day

Over the past day, five fatal accidents in reservoirs have been registered in the Irkutsk region. An inspection is carried out for each case.

The first tragedy occurred on a lake near the 6th Five-Year Plan farm. According to preliminary data, the 29-year-old man was drunk and drowned. IrkutskMedia news agency writes about this.

Two more cases occurred in the Bratsk district. A 56-year-old man drowned in the Bada River, and a 67-year-old pensioner died in the water of the Bratsk reservoir.

A wooden boat capsized in Taishet on the Biryusa River. The 44-year-old man was unable to get out of the water. And at the mouth of the Verkhnyaya Kochema River, a 75-year-old man felt ill, lost his balance and fell into the water. He died.

A total of 37 incidents on the water have been registered in the region since the beginning of the year. In the same period of 2025, 44 such cases were recorded.
