The Dune Beach Sports center will be built in Pskov in 2026. On Thursday, August 6, the foundation stone was laid as part of the start of construction.

After laying the foundation stone at the construction site, the mayor of the city, Boris Yelkin, told the Pskov News feed that this would be the first such facility in Pskov. The center will focus on beach volleyball, and special playgrounds will be set up there.

Yelkin noted the atypical nature of such disciplines and their benefits for the younger generation. It is important, according to the mayor, that every year there are more and more new sports, new coaches and new federations. The center can bring new sensations and new perceptions to the younger generation.

At the end of July, it was reported that construction of a modular martial arts hall had begun in Ostrov, Pskov region. Its area will be 1.1 thousand square meters. m. The building will be equipped with a martial arts hall, administrative offices, locker rooms with showers, a medical office, a coaching room and a wardrobe. The sports facility is being built as part of the federal "I Choose Sport" Business Sprint project. About 110 million rubles were allocated from the budget for these purposes.
