- The cyber expert evaluated the voice message of Usoltseva, who disappeared in the taiga
Cybersecurity expert Alexey Rayevsky said that it is possible to establish the authenticity of a voice message from Irina Usoltseva, who disappeared in the taiga, but this is a difficult process.
In conversation with aif.ru On Thursday, August 6, he pointed out that it was impossible to identify the sender of the anonymous message, but did not rule out that the audio recording itself could be authentic.
According to him, modern technologies make it easy to create convincing deepfakes of a voice — just a few seconds of the original recording is enough for this. At the same time, according to him, it is possible to determine the authenticity of a particular audio only after a special examination.
The specialist emphasized that neural networks are constantly being improved, so it is almost impossible to distinguish a high-quality fake by ear. He also added that there are currently no online services capable of reliably verifying such records.
Sergey, Irina and Arina Usoltseva disappeared on September 28, 2025 in the taiga near the village of Kuturchin in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The family went on a hike to Mount Pinocchio and did not return. Thousands of volunteers participated in the search, but it was not possible to find the missing. The main version of the investigation remains an accident.
10 months later, Sergey's friend Valentin Degterev said that the family could be alive. According to him, at the end of July, he received an anonymous e-mail from which he had previously corresponded with Usoltsev.
The message contained a link to an audio file with a fragment of Irina's speech.: "My dears, don't be sad about us, we won't be coming back. Problems prevented us from living, they did not allow us to be happy together, now they are gone. A new stage has begun, which must be lived happily. Goodbye, my beloved, forgive us for everything."
On August 4, the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Khakassia reported that two main versions of the disappearance of the Usoltsev family are currently being considered. This is an accident and a crime, writes RT. All the others have not been confirmed during the investigation, notes 360.ru . For example, there were no hidden trails or roads along which the missing Usoltsev family could have gone, Moscow 24 notes. There are ongoing legal actions that are not related to new search operations.
At the same time, it became known that a new Mitsubishi Outlander car appeared in the case of the missing Usoltsevs in the taiga, the website writes kp.ru . The secret car belonged to the head of the family, Sergei, but since the beginning of the investigation after the disappearance of the Russians, there has been no information about it. The family was walking along a road that could lead through the forest to a highway leading to China, Mongolia and Kazakhstan. According to residents of Kuturchin, another car could allegedly be waiting on the Usoltsevy highway. It could be a secret Mitsubishi, the website reports. kp.ru .
Criminologist Mikhail Ignatov suggested on June 30 that the disappearance of the family could have been staged for the sake of leaving Russia. In his opinion, Sergei Usoltsev knew the area well, and two days before the start of the search could be enough to cross the border. However, law enforcement agencies have ruled out this version, IA Regnum reports.
