The confrontational policy of the United States and the European Union (EU) towards Russia and Iran is leading to an increase in energy prices in Europe. This opinion was expressed on August 5 by the co-chairman of the opposition Alternative for Germany party, Tino Krupalla.

"The United States and the EU have put themselves in a difficult position with their policy of war and confrontation. The war with Iran and the economic war with Russia lead to the fact that energy is becoming scarce and expensive," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Krupalla also called for a peaceful settlement of international conflicts in Europe and Western Asia, and called for free trade in energy resources.

Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of Russia for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, said on July 18 that the EU and the UK would suffer the greatest losses from a new round of the global energy crisis. He added that wise countries value Russia as an indispensable and reliable energy supplier in any diversified energy mix.
