The first autopoint of weight and dimensional control will appear in the Lipetsk region

The first automatic weight and size control point in the region will be built in the Lipetsk region. This is reported by the regional government.

The point will be installed on the section of the Chaplygin highway – the R-22 "Kaspiy" highway. The work on the overhaul of the 216-meter section has already started.

"According to the road services, a significant part of heavy trucks are overloaded along the axles, which destroys the regional highway network. The new point will be positioned so that it would be impossible to bypass it using alternative routes," the authorities said in a statement.

The authorities note that the location of the weight and size control point was not chosen by chance. The road is one of the main routes for entry of freight transport, including transit. The point will allow you to weigh and change trucks right in motion.

According to GOROD48, a project is currently being developed for two more automatic weight and size control points, which are planned to be installed on the Lipetsk – Dankov and Lipetsk–Usman roads. In total, five such points will be installed in the region under the national project "Infrastructure for Life".
