Sales of the BAIC BJ40 SUV have resumed in Russia, the price of the model starts from 3.8 million rubles. According to the company's press service, gasoline-modified cars will be delivered to dealers in the near future, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported on August 5.

In early spring, information about the configuration and prices of the BAIC BJ40 disappeared from the brand's official website in Russia, and the caption "on sale soon" appeared under the image of the car. Then representatives of the Chinese brand denied the withdrawal of the model from the Russian market and explained the suspension by waiting for Vehicle Type Approval (OTT) for the model.

The BAIC BJ40 debuted on the Russian market in the fall of 2023, and in the summer of that year the model entered the assembly line at the Kaliningrad Avtotor plant. The SUV is equipped with all-wheel drive and a rigidly connected front axle, a two-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with a capacity of 218 hp combined with an eight-speed hydromechanical automatic transmission ZF. The ground clearance is 210 mm.

At the end of last year, BAIC announced the expansion of the off-road vehicle range in Russia, with two new models expected to join the already available BJ40 and BJ60 frames in 2026: the BJ30 and BJ41.

Earlier that day, it was reported that sales of the new Exlantix ET8 full-size hybrid crossover had started in Russia. The price of the model is 7.49 million rubles.
