Residents of Yakutia were warned about freezing temperatures up to -2 and strong winds

In Yakutia, on Thursday, August 6, frosts and strong winds are possible in some areas. The warning was issued by the staff of the YAUGMS.

In the Aldan and Neryungrinsky districts, wind speeds can reach 20 m/s in gusts. In the central, zarechny, Ust-Maysky and Tomponsky districts in low-lying areas on Thursday night, the thermometer will drop to -2 degrees.

At the same time, wet snow is possible in the south, in the southern part of the Oymyakon district and on the Arctic coast and in the north of the republic. On the Arctic coast, the wind will increase to 22 m/s.

During the day, the air will warm up to +27 degrees in some areas, YakutiaMedia news agency notes.

Earlier it was reported that this year July in Russia became the warmest since the beginning of regular meteorological observations. This was announced by Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos Weather Center. The average air temperature in July exceeded the previous record set in 2010 and repeated in 2024. It is specified that the record was broken due to high temperatures in the eastern part of the country, where deviations from the norm reached four degrees. In the European part of the country, on the contrary, the temperature was below normal in some places.
