More than 5 thousand hectares of forests will be restored in the Amur region

Large-scale reforestation will begin in the Amur Region on September 1. The work will be carried out within the framework of the national project "Environmental well-being". It is planned to plant 13 million seedlings of larches, pines and other tree species.

In total, more than 5,000 hectares of forest should be planted by the end of the year. Last season, the same amount was restored, writes IA PriamurMedia. First of all, the areas affected by fires and other natural influences will be planted.

About 70% of the seedlings were grown using traditional technology with an open root system. The rest are modern seedlings with a closed root system. They tolerate transplanting more easily and take root faster.

Eight forestry enterprises grow planting material in the Amur region. The leaders in terms of volume are the nurseries of the Blagoveshchensk, Shimanovsky and Magdagachinsky forestry enterprises.

According to the results of the spring season in 2025, 5.5 hectares of forest were restored in the region. The Amur region, having its own nursery base, increases the reforestation area every year and does not depend on imported material. The region is moving towards meeting its annual targets under the federal Forest Conservation Project.

Earlier, in the Amur region, a court sentenced eight residents of the Svobodnensky district in a case of illegal tree felling as part of an organized group. The damage caused to the state by their actions is estimated at 8 million rubles.
