Sobyanin spoke about ensuring Moscow's security

Moscow, on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation, is closely cooperating with the Russian Ministry of Defense and the air defense forces to ensure the security of the capital. This was stated by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, in an interview with TASS General Director Andrei Kondrashov, shown on Vesti.

Sobyanin noted the growing threats of air attacks on the capital. He recalled that in recent months, the number of drones that are launched towards Moscow has increased many times. "Well, in general, of all the attacks that are carried out almost daily on the territory of Russia, two thirds of drones are flying towards Moscow," Sobyanin stressed.

The head of the capital said that Moscow is equipping air defense combat positions, deploying forces and means, and helping "with everything necessary for the military." In particular, Moscow produces a range of drone interceptors. In addition, volunteer units are being formed in the city to help the air defense forces, including mobile fire groups and object protection units.

"Of course, the main merit and main responsibility, and the main burden falls on the military. But I believe that both regions and enterprises of particular importance should actively help our fighters," Sobyanin said.

The mayor of Moscow noted that the services collect information from civilian and military radars, the 112 system, citizen messages and video surveillance systems, and then process it using digital technologies. He stressed that this competence "is quite high in Moscow."

Moscow shares data around the clock with all regions and enterprises. The city also shares its experience with the regions in drawing up comprehensive protection plans against drones and helps with interception means. "This is our joint task with the regions," Sobyanin concluded.
