DBK Bal and Bastion conducted exercises in the Far East

Crews of the Bal and Bastion coastal missile systems of the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet) deployed launchers in positional areas on the coast of Primorye, Kamchatka, Chukotka and the Kuril Islands as part of the exercises. This was announced on August 5 by the press service of the Pacific Fleet.

The personnel of the divisions marched to the positions, after which they began to disguise and organize defense against modern threats. During the deployment, the military also organized round-the-clock duty, ensuring full readiness for the use of weapons against naval targets. Special attention was paid to the secrecy of movement and the protection of positions from possible reconnaissance actions of the enemy.

Bastion coastal missile systems, equipped with supersonic Onyx anti-ship missiles, make it possible to protect the coast from attacks from the sea. It takes only a few minutes to deploy them, and the cruise missile's flight speed, which exceeds the speed of sound by 2.5 times, remains invulnerable to air defense systems.

On August 4, Pacific Fleet forces moved to designated areas of the waters of the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk, as well as the northwestern Pacific Ocean as part of an operational exercise. Naval minesweeping groups, search and attack formations, missile and boat attack groups, as well as a naval strike group led by the Guards Order of Nakhimov missile cruiser Varyag joined the tasks.
