French police have discovered human remains in the waters of the Seine River in central Paris. This was reported on August 4 by ActuParis portal with reference to the message of the prosecutor's office of the French capital.

According to the report, human bones were discovered by the crew of the river police brigade at the Port de la Bourdonnais pier, located at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. It is noted that among the remains found is a human jaw.

An investigation has been launched to determine the causes of death, and an anthropological study is being conducted to determine the age of the skeleton, the statement said.

On June 24, police in the British county of Derbyshire reported the murder of a man whose body was found near a prehistoric circle of stones after an event dedicated to the summer solstice. It was noted that the guests of the holiday are usually followers of neo-paganism. The victim was 26 years old, and, according to Detective Tony Owen, he was killed "in the most brutal way."
