A criminal case was opened in the Evenki district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory on the theft of 42 million rubles during the construction of a sports ground. This is reported by the regional prosecutor's office.

We are talking about the site that was to be built by StroyInvest LLC in the village of Vanavara. The total cost of the contract was 99 million rubles. The company reported on its full readiness and handed over the facility.

However, as part of the prosecutor's inspection, it turned out that there was an empty field in place of the rubber coating, mud instead of lawns, 108 fence posts were installed instead of 127, the contractor had equipped only 280 m of sidewalks instead of 728 m, and holes had already appeared on the seamless rubber coating, which was still installed. Other documentation inconsistencies were also found.

In addition, the contract provided for the removal of garbage from the demolished old school to a special landfill near Krasnoyarsk, the KrasnoyarskMedia news agency clarifies. Additionally, the contractor received 26.6 million rubles for the burial, which was to be carried out by an outside organization, but the prosecutor's office found out that the waste was buried on the outskirts of Vanavara — now there is a hill of timber and wooden structures.

The total amount of damage exceeded 42.5 million rubles. A criminal case has been opened under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Fraud on an especially large scale." A legal assessment of the actions of the customer's officials is also being given.
