The FSB detained a Donetsk resident for calling for extremism on Telegram

A local resident was detained in Donetsk, who is suspected of publishing calls for extremist actions. This was announced on August 5 by the press service of the Russian FSB Directorate for the Donetsk People's Republic.

According to the agency, the 24-year-old repeatedly left comments on the Telegram messenger. In them, he called for violent acts against Russians based on nationality. The detainee admitted his guilt and apologized for his comments.

Russian Russians, and I have nothing against Russians. And I support YOU. I also apologize to the Federal Security Service for the time they spent on me," the young man said during the interrogation.

A criminal case was opened against the detainee under Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls to carry out extremist activities through the media or the Internet").

On the same day, the Central Control Center of the FSB of Russia announced the detention in Sevastopol of two Russian citizens who were instructed by the Ukrainian special services to commit a terrorist attack in Crimea against the head of one of the new regions of Russia. According to the agency, at the initial stage they collected intelligence information about the units of the Russian Armed Forces in the Crimea.

After learning how to use an improvised explosive device, the supervisor instructed them to commit terrorist attacks on critical infrastructure facilities and against the head of one of the new regions during his stay on the peninsula. During the interrogation, one of the defendants admitted that, in addition to the assassination attempt, he and his accomplice wanted to change the inscription "Simferopol" at the entrance to the city, translating it into Ukrainian.
