Sales of new cars in the Russian Federation in July became a record since the beginning of the year

By the end of July this year, 122.1 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 1.2% more than in the same month of 2025. This is stated in the report of the analytical agency Autostat, which Izvestia reviewed on August 5. It follows from the data that the July result was the highest since the beginning of 2026. Prior to that, April was the best month in terms of sales (117.5 thousand units).

The Lada brand retains leadership in the Russian market, which accounted for about a quarter (23.94%) of the total volume in mid-summer, which in quantitative terms amounts to 29.2 thousand copies sold.

Among foreign brands, Haval again became the best in terms of sales, with cars selling 15.6 thousand units in July. The domestic Tenet brand is on the third line (12.6 thousand units), followed by Geely and Changan (8340 and 5459 units, respectively).

The sixth place was taken by the Belarusian brand Belgee with an indicator of 4,891 cars. The top ten also includes Jetour (4,387 units), Toyota (3,724 units), Mazda (3,090 units) and GAC (1,928 units).

Four of the ten market-leading brands showed positive dynamics in July, and Mazda "grew" the most (5.5 times). Among the brands that went into negative territory, GAC has the highest negative dynamics (-32.2%).

In just seven months, 730.7 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 12.2% more than in January – July 2025. There are seven brands in the black, of which Mazda recorded the highest growth (an increase of 7.7 times), and Changan recorded the highest decrease (-24.2%).
