The court extended the arrest of Gazmanov's ex-producer Philippe Rosse.
Oleg Gazmanov's former producer Philippe Ross has had his detention extended until September. This was reported on August 4 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.
Ross is accused of fraud, as well as infringement of copyright and related rights. During the meeting, his lawyer said that the ex-producer had already reimbursed the artist for 12 million rubles. The total amount is 17.5 million rubles. In turn, Gazmanov asked the court to release Ross from jail.
According to media reports, the artist's ex-producer sold Gazmanov's photographs and musical works to third parties, including the rights to songs used in films without his knowledge.
On the same day, Ross reimbursed the artist for 12 million rubles. It was specified that the total amount is 17.5 million rubles.
In March, Ross was sent to jail as part of a criminal case on fraud on a particularly large scale. He was charged with a crime under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code ("Fraud on an especially large scale") and part 2 of Article 146 ("Violation of copyright and related rights").
Later, Ross was charged with illegally transferring musical works and images of the artist to third parties without his knowledge. The Basmanny District Court extended Rosse's arrest until August 5.
