Over the past day, 326 road accidents were recorded on Russian roads, in which 26 people were killed and 397 injured. Among the dead, 21 people were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on August 4 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
13 bus accidents were recorded, in which two people were killed, and 23 more road users, including two children, needed medical help. Five bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.

As a result of 55 accidents involving pedestrians, five people were killed, and another 50 were injured in various degrees of severity. 53 accidents involving minors were also registered, in which 53 young road users were injured, including 20 passengers, four motor transport drivers and one cyclist. One child passenger was killed.
In the Moscow region, around midnight, on 1 km of the M-8 Kholmogory federal highway, a 24-year-old motorcyclist collided with a crossover driven by a 59-year-old driver moving in front of him in the same direction. Both the perpetrator of the collision and his 12-year-old brother, who was being transported on a motor vehicle as a passenger, died in the accident. Both victims were in their vehicle without motorcycle helmets and protective gear. A few years ago, a motorcycle driver was deprived of the right to drive for a year and a half due to drunk driving. His sentence has long expired, but he has not bothered to get his driver's license in the prescribed manner. The deceased's motorcycle was also not registered.
The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded drivers that child passengers are one of the most vulnerable categories among underage road users. While driving with a child, it is important to choose a safe driving style, not to be distracted at the wheel, not to exceed the set speed limit, observe a safe side interval and distance between vehicles, and avoid risky driving, overtaking and entering oncoming traffic, even in permitted places.
Adult road users should demonstrate safe behavior on the road by their own example, as well as regularly remind children of the need for strict compliance with traffic rules, the department said. Drivers should be extremely careful when driving at night, especially when driving motor vehicles. You should always reserve time to react adequately to a possible change in the traffic situation at any time, especially in conditions of poor visibility or insufficient illumination at night.
"In addition, the State Traffic Inspectorate urges drivers who do not have a driver's license or are deprived of the right to drive vehicles to refrain from any attempts to get behind the wheel and drive onto public roads. By your reckless actions, you endanger not only your own life and health, but also the lives and health of other road users," said Police Colonel Anton Belan, Deputy head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of Child Traffic Injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
