Legend Festival will end the summer rocker season in Moscow

The Legend Rock Festival will be held on August 29 and 30 in Moscow's Gorbunov Recreation Center. More than 30 bands, including representatives of the old and new schools of Russian rock, will perform on three stages. Izvestia correspondent Sergey Khaidarov told what viewers can expect from the show.

The Pilot group, whose fans recently gathered at Gorbunov Recreation Center for a concert in honor of soloist Ilya Chert's birthday, will participate in the festival. The performance also became a rehearsal for the upcoming "Legend".

"For us, it's about taking our soul away, going out at such a festival and pining for a tough guy," the Devil shared.

The festival's audience will enjoy heavy music, slam and performances by bands whose fans will come to Moscow from different regions of the country.

"The festival itself is awesome! Because there are so many good bands in one place at one time. Isn't that great," said Maria Shatova, a fan of the Pilot group.

In 2026, some of the performers will appear on the stage of the festival for the first time. Among the debutants is the punk band Yorsh, which will also celebrate its 20th anniversary at Gorbushka.

"I smoothly step onto the glissando and start the staccato. And magic happens," the musicians explained.

The leader of the Yorsh group, Dmitry Sokol, noted the special atmosphere of the Gorbunov Recreation Center and its significance for the history of Russian rock.

"When you visit places like this, you feel like every plaque and every brick is steeped in history. That it was here that Oleg Garkusha, the frontman of the Auctioneer group, first appeared on stage," he said.

Another debutant of the festival will be the Distemper group, which is called one of the oldest bands of Russian ska-punk. Lead singer Vyacheslav Biryukov noted that the multi-stage format would allow viewers to choose between performances by different artists.

"If someone likes Distemper, they will watch the whole performance. But if another legend performs on another stage, they can move there. I would personally do that," Biryukov shared.

The festival in the capital was attended by 85 thousand people.

On July 19, a concert of the Knyazz group was held in St. Petersburg in honor of the anniversary of the death of Mikhail Gorshenev, the lead singer of the King and the Fool, where fans of the group heard their favorite songs again. The most touching moment of the St. Petersburg performance was the song "The Bear", when only Mikhail Gorshenev's voice and instruments sounded from the stage. Thousands of lights lit up in the hall. The second memorable concert will be held in Moscow on August 7, the birthday of the Pot.
