The American company Hennessey has introduced a new Blackbird model, which is its third supercar after the Venom GT and various modifications of the Venom F5. The car is named after the Lockheed SR-71 supersonic aircraft and is focused on the "analog" driving experience, Carscoops reported on August 3.
The Hennessey Blackbird is equipped with a new naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 developed by Ilmor with a capacity of about 800-850 hp, paired with a six-speed manual transmission with an open backstage. The drive is rear—wheel drive. Acceleration from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) is set at 2.5 seconds, with a top speed of about 354 km/h. Due to the carbon fiber chassis and body, the dry weight of the machine is only 1,360 kg.
A special feature of the interior of the Blackbird was the rejection of the usual digital environment: there are no screens and touch buttons in the cabin. Instead, an analog dashboard with "wells" and physical switches is installed, and the ignition key is traditional. For comfortable operation, the hypercar is equipped with an adaptive suspension and a set of safety systems, a luggage compartment and cup holders are provided.
The circulation of the Hennessey Blackbird will be 71 copies with a starting price of $2.5 million. According to the company, more than two thirds of the print run has already been distributed before the public premiere, scheduled for August. Deliveries to customers are expected in 2029-2030.
On the same day, it was reported that the second-generation electric crossover Evolute i-Sky should appear at dealers in Russia in September. In the brand's lineup, this SUV will take its place between the compact urban crossover i-Joy and the flagship hybrid i-Space. The Evolve i-Sky is powered by a 218 hp (310 Nm) engine that accelerates the crossover from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds.
