Suren Papikyan has been reassigned to the post of Minister of Defense of Armenia
Suren Papikyan was reassigned to the post of Minister of Defense of Armenia. This follows from the decree published on August 3 on the website of the President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturian.
"Based on the Prime Minister's proposal, in accordance with Article 150 of the Constitution, <...> to appoint Suren Papikyan as Minister of Defense," the document says.
In addition, Arpine Sargsyan and Ararat Mirzoyan were also reassigned to the posts of Minister of Internal Affairs and Minister of Foreign Affairs, respectively.
The day before, Khachaturian reappointed Nikol Pashinyan as the country's prime minister. Pashinyan was nominated for this post by the ruling Civil Contract party in Armenia. On the same day, the Armenian government resigned in accordance with the country's Constitution.
