Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma's defense Committee, said that the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the civilian population in Gelendzhik is barbarism and sadism.
In conversation with Lenta.Ru On Monday, August 3, he noted that thousands of people, including children, are vacationing in Gelendzhik, and called for all those involved in the attack to be found and punished as soon as possible.
According to him, the attacks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces "on military facilities in the depths of Russia" can still be explained by such statements, however, in his opinion, it remains unclear what military targets could be in Gelendzhik, where a large number of civilians live.
"This is a war crime that should receive an appropriate assessment, but I think there is no point in waiting for a military tribunal. We need to resolve this issue immediately," the politician said.
As a result of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on Gelendzhik on August 3, six people were killed and 40 others were injured, including children. 17 of them were hospitalized. They were taken to medical institutions in Gelendzhik, Tuapse district and Goryachy Klyuch, NSN said.
