Sobyanin spoke about new sports clusters in Moscow districts

The development and renovation of sports infrastructure in various districts continues in Moscow. The plans for this year's renovation include over 2,000 yards, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on his Maks channel.

"We create comfortable conditions for outdoor enthusiasts. In 2026, we will continue to build new and upgrade existing sports infrastructure in different areas," Sobyanin wrote.

For example, a multifunctional sports cluster has been set up on Kulikovskaya Street in Severny Butovo. They have equipped playgrounds for basketball and volleyball, running tracks and a football field with bleachers. Simulators and table tennis tables were installed nearby, a workout zone and an obstacle course were made. The Veshnyaki district has received a similar set of features. The universal field there is designed for basketball or streetball, there are fitness equipment and a workout area nearby.

The same zones will appear in two more districts. In Novogireev, a multi-purpose sports ground will be complemented by a fitness area with weight machines and horizontal bars, as well as table tennis tables. In the Nagatinsky Backwater, work will take place in the courtyard of house 31, building 1, on Sudostroitelnaya Street. An area with weight training equipment and a workout complex will be put in order there, and the old hockey box will be replaced with a modern one.

Earlier, Sobyanin said that 128 year-round sports grounds of a new format would be created in Moscow. The facilities will appear in all administrative districts of the capital and will be used throughout the year. In winter, they will operate as ice rinks with warm locker rooms, and in summer as playgrounds for volleyball, basketball and other team sports.
