- The water level has increased in most of the rivers of Transbaikalia over the past day
In the Trans-Baikal Territory, river levels in most rivers rose on August 3. Floodplains were flooded near 17 settlements.
In the next 24 hours, the water level will reach a critical level on the Ingoda River near the village of Atamanovka and on the Chita River within the city. This is reported by the ChitaMedia news agency. Unfavorable conditions were recorded on the Argun River in the Prorva channel near the village of Molokanka and the village of Novotsurukhaitui, as well as on the Chita River near the villages of Burgen and Shishkino.
According to forecasts, the water level will continue to rise within two days. The water will reach the floodplain of the Onon River near the village of Verkhny Ulkhun and on the Vitim River near the village of Nelyaty.
The flood is observed after heavy rains that hit Transbaikalia in late July and early August. 24 mm of precipitation fell in Chita alone in two hours. 14 residential buildings and 38 adjacent territories were flooded in the city. More than 1 thousand sites were affected throughout the region.
