Irina Tretyakova, director of the Kostroma Drama Theater, has died.
Irina Tretyakova, director of the Kostroma State Drama Theater named after A.N. Ostrovsky, Honored Worker of Culture of Russia, has died. This was announced on August 3 in the press service of the theater.
"The staff of the Kostroma State Drama Theater named after A.N. Ostrovsky is deeply saddened to announce the death of the director of the theater, Honored Worker of Culture of Russia Irina Gennadievna Tretyakova," the VKontakte message says.
The theater noted that Tretyakova devoted her life to serving the culture of the Kostroma region and Russia. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region expressed its condolences to the family and friends, as well as to the staff. The ministry called her a wise colleague and a member of the Public Council, noting her high civic position and contribution to the upbringing of the younger generation and patriotic education. It is noted that the date and time of the farewell will be announced later.
Tretyakova joined the theater in 1989, and for the last 21 years she has been director. Over the years of her leadership, the theater has won prestigious festivals, and productions have been recognized outside the Kostroma region.
With the participation of Tretyakova, Russia's first Museum of Theatrical Costume was created. In 2023, she was awarded the title of Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, she was also the winner of the A.N. Ostrovsky Award of the Kostroma Region Administration in the field of theatrical art following the 2019-2020 season.
