A man was killed in Ingushetia on suspicion of witchcraft.
A resident of the city of Sunzha in the Republic of Ingushetia suspected a neighbor of witchcraft and shot him, wanting to avenge his brother. This was announced on July 3 by a source of Izvestia.
"The man decided to commit a crime because he was convinced that the 52-year-old neighbor had bewitched his sick brother," the source explained.
According to the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region, the attacker, along with two friends, entered a neighbor's property on the morning of July 29 and shot him at least three times. A local resident died from his injuries, and the suspects fled in a rented car.
It is known that all three had previous convictions. The men were promptly detained, and they are preparing to be charged. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
On July 10, the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that a resident of Bashkiria killed a blind acquaintance out of jealousy. Knowing that the man was suffering from a serious eye condition and could not protect himself, the defendant struck him with at least eight blows to the head and body with a wooden cane.
