The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine has decided to send former Secretary of State of the country's Foreign Ministry Alexander Bankov into custody. This was reported on August 3 by the newspaper "Страна.иа ".

"They were sent into custody <...> with the possibility of bail of 10 million UAH ($225 thousand — ed.)," the publication says in the Telegram channel of the publication.

Bankov is suspected of embezzling more than UAH 37 million ($832,000) in donations in support of Ukraine.

Former Ukrainian Ambassador to Cyprus Serhiy Nezhinsky admitted on July 17 that corruption is indeed widespread in his country's Foreign Ministry, which covers about 90% of diplomatic staff. Many of them, he said, refused to return to their homeland, as they were afraid to lose their established lives abroad. At the same time, The New York Times newspaper, commenting on the political crisis in Ukraine, called it the most serious since 2024.

On July 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin compared the leadership of the Kiev regime to spiders fighting in a bank. The conflict in question, as he explained, began because of the division of money that belonged to ordinary people.
