The average salary in 2026 will allow citizens to earn about four retirement points. This was announced on August 3 by Igor Balynin, an associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.
"With a salary of 114 thousand rubles in 2026, an employee will have 4,592 individual pension coefficients (IPCs), and with a salary of 120 thousand rubles — 4,834 IPCs," he said in an interview with TASS.
According to the expert, in 2025, the average salary increased by 14.28%, rising from 89,069 to 101,784 rubles. He also believes that in 2026 the positive dynamics will continue, and the figure will reach 114-120 thousand rubles.
According to statistics from August 2, in 25 regions of Russia, the average salary in May exceeded 100,000 rubles, while Chukotka took the first place in terms of wages. The highest average income from work in May was recorded in Chukotka — 260.7 thousand rubles per month. Next in the ranking were the Magadan Region with an indicator of 214.5 thousand rubles and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug with 205.4 thousand rubles.
