The Air defense forces eliminated 54 drones over the Belgorod region in two days.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have more than doubled the number of attacks on the Belgorod region over the past two months. This was announced on August 2 by the acting governor of the region, Alexander Shuvaev.

"Over the past two months, the enemy has more than doubled the number of attacks. Unfortunately, civilians and children are dying. We are doing everything to ensure that there are as few arrivals as possible," he said in a post on the Maks messenger.

He noted that the work is carried out continuously every day. According to Shuvaev, the FPV air defense crews of the unmanned aerial vehicles detachment and the anti-unmanned systems battalion of the BARS-Belgorod brigade destroyed 54 drones from August 1 to 2.

As a result of the drone strike, five people were killed and more than 20 were injured.

On August 2, Shuvaev reported that a teenager was killed and two more children were injured as a result of an attack by an APU drone in the Belgorod region in the village of Printsevka near a playground. On the same day, Maria Lvova-Belova, the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights and Chairman of the Children's Protection Fund, announced that the two injured girls were in moderate condition.
