Plushenko called on Russian figure skaters to show Russia's leadership in figure skating

Two-time Olympic champion, coach Evgeny Plushenko said on August 2 that after returning to the international arena, Russian athletes should demonstrate high results.

"We are finally entering the international arena. This is the most important thing. <...> Now it is very important for Russia that athletes come out, but we must show results.: that Russia is the main country in figure skating. Everyone understands everything," he told reporters, his words are reported by RIA Novosti.

Plushenko congratulated the athletes on their return to international competitions, noting that even participation in a neutral status is an important step forward.
