Queues of people wishing to enter Russia have formed at the checkpoint in Narva

Significant queues of citizens wishing to cross the border and enter the territory of Russia continue to be recorded at the checkpoint in Narva. This was announced on August 2 by the press service of the North-Western Customs Administration of the Russian Federation.

"Due to the increased control by the Estonian state authorities, significant queues are forming in front of the adjacent Narva 1 checkpoint both for entry into Russia and for exit from the Russian Federation," the ministry said in a statement to Maks.

The customs department explained that over the past day alone, 680 people had traveled from Estonia to the Russian Federation, while 1,190 citizens had crossed the border in the opposite direction.

On June 8, the Federal Customs Service reported that the crossing through the Ivangorod checkpoint in the Leningrad Region towards Estonia from June 15 would be carried out only during the day. This schedule was introduced due to a four-hour reduction in the operation of the checkpoint from Estonia.
