A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The North group of troops defeated the manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian armed forces in the areas of the settlements of Tolstodubovo, Stepovoye and Kiyanitsa, Sumy region, Pioneer, Liptsy, Vasilevka, Bolshye Prokhody, Prudyanka and Zelyony Guy, Kharkiv region. As a result of the actions of Russian servicemen, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost more than 240 militants, an armored combat vehicle, 18 vehicles, five artillery pieces and an electronic warfare station.

In addition, the Zapad group of forces defeated the manpower and equipment of three mechanized, assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense brigade in the DPR. The losses of the Ukrainian army amounted to over 220 militants, an armored combat vehicle, 17 vehicles and four field artillery guns.

"The units of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses. The manpower and equipment of two airborne assault brigades and two assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated in the areas of settlements <...> of the Dnipropetrovsk region, <...>..> Zaporozhye region. The enemy lost more than 355 soldiers," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated transport, energy infrastructure and logistics centers used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 156 areas.

In turn, the air defense systems shot down six guided aerial bombs, a HIMARS multiple rocket launcher and 1,158 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost 673 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 195,419 UAVs, 669 anti-aircraft missile systems, 30,400 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,768 multiple rocket launchers, 35,991 field artillery guns and mortars, 68,114 pieces of special vehicles.
