On August 2, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin expressed his condolences to the relatives of those killed in the explosion on Kudrinskaya Square in the capital.
"Yesterday, a brutal terrorist act was committed in Moscow, which claimed the lives of people. <...> I express my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims. I wish a speedy recovery to the injured," the mayor wrote in the "Max".
Sobyanin noted that the victims of the explosion are receiving all necessary assistance in city hospitals. At the same time, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
"The perpetrators of this crime will definitely be found and will be punished as they deserve," stressed the mayor of Moscow.
On the evening of August 1, an explosion occurred at the Balzi Rossi restaurant on Kudrinskaya Square. The National Anti-Terrorism Committee clarified that an unknown woman tried to enter the institution with an improvised explosive device — she is suspected of committing a terrorist act. Together with her, a security guard who did not let a woman into the restaurant and one of the guests Balzi Rossi were killed in the explosion. The staff urgently evacuated the visitors. According to eyewitnesses, a wedding was taking place in the restaurant. Five people became victims of the explosion, 19 were injured.
