- A suitcase containing the remains of a missing 38-year-old British woman was found in Greece.
A suitcase containing the remains of a previously missing 38-year-old British woman, Elizabeth Jane Ross, was found in one of the abandoned buildings in Athens. This was reported by the Daily Mail (DM) newspaper with reference to law enforcement agencies.
"The body of Elizabeth Jane Ross <...> it was discovered by a homeless man in the Kipseli area. <...> He informed the authorities that he had noticed a suitcase and something peeking out of it, "similar to a human limb," the publication says.
Forensic experts clarified that it was a murder. According to their information, the attacker tried to mislead everyone by poisoning messages from the victim's phone and creating the appearance of activity on social networks.
No visible signs of violence were found on the body of the deceased. Her documents were also missing, but fingerprints were found that were not included in the databases. The fight, as the experts added, apparently was not conducted. They have sent the remains for examination and are now awaiting the results of toxicological tests.
Elizabeth Jane Ross, as DM learned, was born in 1988. She flew to Athens from the United States on June 29 to visit her friends, with whom she lived until her disappearance on July 15.
On June 24, police in the British county of Derbyshire reported the murder of a man whose body was found near a prehistoric circle of stones after an event dedicated to the summer solstice. It was noted that the guests of the holiday are usually followers of neo-paganism. The victim was 26 years old and, according to Detective Tony Owen, he was killed "in the most brutal way."
