Residents of an apartment building in Saratov suffered as a result of a night attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) attacked Engels in the Saratov region, as a result of which an apartment building was damaged, where people were killed and injured. For more information, see the Izvestia article.

Dead and injured

The governor of the Saratov Region, Roman Busargin, said on August 2 that two people were killed and several others were injured as a result of the incident.

He promised that the families of the victims would receive all the necessary assistance and clarified that doctors who had arrived at the scene of the tragedy were already working with all the victims.

Response measures have been taken

Busargin said that temporary accommodation facilities will be organized for the citizens of the attacked house. They are expected to stay there until specialists inspect the structures. At the same time, a commission began work to assess the damage caused by drones. It is planned that the territory of the house will be guarded.

The head of the district where the incident was recorded has already received a number of instructions. The authorities were tasked with setting up an operational headquarters and opening a hotline where residents could contact for all questions.

Damage to civilian infrastructure

A few hours earlier, it became known about the damage caused by the UAV attack to civilian infrastructure facilities not only in Engels, but also in Saratov.

According to the preliminary information provided by the governor, the victims were identified. The exact number of wounded was not announced.
