Ukrainian media reported on the introduction of limits on diesel fuel at gas stations

Ukrainian gas station networks have imposed restrictions on the sale of diesel fuel, setting a limit of 50-100 liters per customer. This was reported by the Ukrainian edition on July 31. Delo.ua .

"Several gas station operators are already introducing restrictions, and this list seems to only expand. The limits range from 50 to 100 liters per refueling. More often, such restrictions are imposed at stations located on highways where fuel is bought by truck drivers and truckers, who now refuel directly at gas stations rather than at oil depots," the publication says.

In addition, according to the publication, one of the factors was the reduction of the price gap between the wholesale and retail fuel markets, so now it is more profitable to buy fuel at gas stations than before.

It clarifies that restrictions are introduced primarily to prevent the rapid depletion of fuel reserves at gas stations, since logistics chains do not always allow them to be replenished promptly.

It is also noted that there is still a shortage of fuel in Ukraine, and wholesale prices at oil depots remain high.

On July 28, Sergey Kuyun, director of the leading Ukrainian consulting group A-95, which researches the fuel market, said that Ukraine was faced with a shortage of gasoline after the introduction of the European E10 standard, and there was also a shortage of diesel due to the disruption of foreign supplies. Due to the fuel crisis, prices at gas stations will continue to rise. As part of the transition of the Ukrainian fuel market to European standards, a new fuel standard E10 was introduced for all gas stations in Ukraine, providing for the addition of up to 10% bioethanol to gasoline.
