Starting from September 1, large hotels in Russia with more than 50 rooms must provide tourists with the opportunity to check in without a paper passport using the national Maks platform. Roman Gareev, Head of the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, told about this on August 2.

"The new rules, which come into force on September 1, 2026 for large hotels with more than 50 rooms, formalize the procedure for checking in without a paper passport using the national messenger Maks," Gareev said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
