The Russian Foreign Ministry has not confirmed the information about the ban on issuing foreign passports through multifunctional centers (MFCs), which was previously distributed on social networks. This was reported on August 2 in the department.

The Russian Foreign Ministry explained that the changes in administrative regulations that came into force on July 26 apply exclusively to citizens traveling abroad on business trips to organizations registered with the ministry and registering services through these organizations.

"All other Russian citizens living on its territory, as before, can apply to the territorial divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia through the unified portal of state and municipal services or through the MFC," the department told TASS.

According to data published on July 29 on the portal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Media, the Russian government has made changes to the description of forms of foreign passports. The columns "Personal code" and "Account" were excluded from the documents, and starting from January 2027, information about children will no longer be entered into passports.
