Fico accused the EC of hypocrisy because of the permission to import fur from Russia
On August 1, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico accused the European Commission of hypocrisy in connection with the decision to allow the import of sable fur from Russia, but prohibiting the import of more significant goods.
"We prohibit the import of goods necessary for our industry or for everyday life from Russia. Moreover, even if they are difficult to replace with supplies from other countries, and their import costs much more. It is precisely such sanctions that sometimes cause us more harm than Russia itself. But this will not apply to sable fur," the Slovak prime minister said in a video message on Facebook (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
