Putin congratulates Russian railway workers on their professional holiday

On August 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated railway industry workers on their professional holiday and noted their key role in meeting the needs of the Russian army and the population in a special military operation.

"Today, Russian Railways employees provide invaluable assistance in supplying troops participating in a special military operation, often risking their lives to deliver everything they need to residents of border areas, and restore communications in the liberated territories of Novorossiya and Donbass," Putin said in a video message.

The President noted that railways remain a strategically important industry for the country and recalled that this year marks the 175th anniversary of the first national railway connecting Moscow and St. Petersburg.

According to him, the industry is actively developing today.: The first domestic high-speed highway is being built, digital technologies are being introduced, and transportation safety and speed are being improved. The Head of State thanked the industry workers for their dedication to the profession and wished them health, well-being and new successes.

On July 31, the head of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov, during a meeting with the Russian leader, expressed gratitude to him for the regular support of railway workers. The head of Russian Railways clarified that the holding employs 851 thousand people. He noted that labor productivity has increased, and employees are more likely to retire. Belozerov stressed that salaries in the team average 119 thousand rubles.
