Blogger Lerchek (real name — Valeria Chekalina), previously, plans to appeal her sentence. This was announced on August 1 by her lawyer Konstantin Tretyakov.
"She had such an intention yesterday, yes, but we still have time for this decision, we are also waiting for the production of the full text of the verdict," Tretyakov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The lawyer noted that the defense still has questions about certain provisions of the court's decision, including the calculation of the imposed fine. According to him, it is necessary to study what grounds were used in determining the amount and whether the norms of legislation were correctly applied.
The criminal case against Chekalina was resumed on July 24. The first hearing was held on the 30th of the same month. The debate of the parties took place on July 31. On the same day, she was sentenced to 5 years of probation and fined 765 million rubles.
Lercek was accompanied to the meetings by her lover, dancer Luis Squicciarini. All reviews are conducted behind closed doors. As part of the latter, when Lercek briefly left the courthouse, she refused to comment to reporters, with whom she tried not even to make eye contact.
