Lyubitsky's release created the conditions for advancement in the Zaporizhia region
Assault units of the 37th separate motorized rifle Brigade of the 36th Combined arms Army of the Vostok group of forces broke through the defenses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and took control of the village of Lyubitskoye, Zaporizhia region. Footage of the liberation on August 1 was published by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
It is noted that during prolonged fighting, units of the Vostok group of forces took control of the enemy's defense area of more than 12 square kilometers. It is specified that the assault groups have consistently cleared more than 500 buildings in the village.
The Ministry of Defense reported that the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to up to a company of manpower, 26 armored combat vehicles, 13 ground-based robotic complexes, 17 vehicles, 23 units of motorized vehicles and more than 60 heavy hexacopters of the Baba Yaga type.
It is noted that the liberation of Lyubitsky allowed the troops to expand the bridgehead on the eastern bank of the Verkhnyaya Tersa River. As a result, this creates conditions for further advancement in the Zaporizhia region.
On the same day, the Ministry of Defense announced that Russian military personnel had established control over the settlements of Olgovka, Kharkiv region, and Lyubitskoye, Zaporizhia region. The Ukrainian side in the Zaporizhia region lost over 365 militants, three armored combat vehicles, 12 vehicles, a counter-battery radar station and three artillery pieces.
