A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. In the Kharkiv region, formations of the mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and two air defense brigades were defeated in the areas of Bugayevka, Dolzhanka and Morozovaya Dolina settlements of the Kharkiv region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 225 militants, a tank, an armored combat vehicle and eight vehicles.

"As a result of decisive actions, units of the Zapad group of forces established control over the settlement of Olgovka, Kharkiv region. The manpower and equipment of the mechanized brigade, the security brigade of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Marine corps brigade and the air defense brigade were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Hrushevka, Nechvolodovka, Podliman, Smorodkovka of the Kharkiv region and Mayaki of the Donetsk People's Republic," the department noted.

The units of the Vostok group of forces advanced into the depth of the enemy's defenses and liberated the village of Lyubitskoye in the Zaporizhia region. The manpower and equipment of four airborne assault brigades, two assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a marine brigade were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Velikomikhailovka, Ivanovka, Katerinovka, Prosyanaya, Skotovatoye, Dnipropetrovsk region, Chaplino and Chervonny Yar, Zaporizhia region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 365 military personnel, three armored combat vehicles, 12 vehicles, a counter-battery radar station and three artillery pieces.

"Operational-tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery of groups of troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have damaged the production sites, storage of unmanned aerial vehicles and their components, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 152 districts. Air defense systems shot down 15 guided aerial bombs and 743 aircraft—type unmanned aerial vehicles," the ministry added.

Since the beginning of the special military operation, 673 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 194,261 unmanned aerial vehicles, 669 anti-aircraft missile systems, 30,389 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,766 multiple rocket launchers, 35,975 field artillery and mortars, 68,025 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
