UKMTO reported the shelling of a tanker off the coast of Oman

A tanker was attacked off the coast of Oman by an unknown shell. This was announced on August 1 on the website of the Office of Maritime Trade of Great Britain (UKMTO).

"The UKMTO has received a report of an incident 11 nautical miles northeast of Lima, Oman... The vessel was hit by an unknown projectile, which damaged the engine room," the report says.

According to the agency, the vessel lost control, and the regional coast guard was informed of the incident. It clarifies that there have been no reports of casualties or environmental impacts.
