Minsk has opened a corridor for reuniting families divided by the Ukrainian conflict

Belarus has organized a humanitarian corridor for the reunification of families from Russia and Ukraine, separated by the conflict. This was reported on July 31 by the Belarusian TV channel "First Information"..

"Belarus has once again provided a humanitarian corridor for family reunification. It was organized at the Novaya Guta checkpoint, on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border," the publication says.

It is noted that 10 pensioners and low-mobility citizens from the territory of the Russian Federation go to relatives in Ukraine. Five more people were able to return from Ukraine to Belarus, where their relatives are waiting for them. Four Ukrainian children have also been reunited with their families, some of whom are in Europe.

On July 30, Russian Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights Maria Lvova-Belova said that as part of Russia's efforts to reunite children from Ukraine and their parents, one child returned to his mother in Russia, and four more children should unite with their loved ones in Ukraine and Germany.

Lvova-Belova also announced on June 20 that Russia was responding to all requests from Ukraine for the reunification of children with their families. According to her, requests are mostly received when parents are on different sides of the border.
