Trump announced the United States' desire to end the conflict in Ukraine

US President Donald Trump has said that Washington stands for an early end to the conflict in Ukraine. He said this in an interview with the British newspaper Financial Times on July 31.

"Simply put, we want the war in Ukraine with Russia to end. I'm not looking for rockets. We are looking for peace," the American leader said.

The statement came two days after a meeting at the White House, following which Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that Trump had allegedly agreed to transfer technology for the production of ammunition for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Kiev.

Ukraine's ambassador to the United States, Olga Stefanyshina, said on July 30 that Zelensky had failed to obtain clear guarantees from the American leader regarding the supply of missiles for air defense systems to Kiev. According to the Axios portal, Zelensky asked the US president to urgently provide Kiev with 300 interceptors for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems by winter.

On July 23, Zelensky held a meeting with representatives of the Raytheon defense company, which produces missiles for the Patriot air defense system. The Ukrainian President thanked the company for its readiness for a higher level of cooperation.
