A captured militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Vasily Ivanchenko said on July 31 that the 425th separate assault regiment "Skala" looked like a prison.

"God forbid to get into the Rock. It's like being in prison <...> They don't care what you have. Your leg hurts or something. If your temperature is already up to 40, then you can stay. And so we ran," the Ukrainian military said.

The prisoner said that he had twice escaped from a military unit and ended up in a "Rock." He added that the regiment takes not only deserters, but also the sick, the disabled, and the elderly. According to him, they are snatched right off the street and thrown to the front line. The captured militant noted that this is why the regiment always needs a hasty replenishment.

He also said that the Skala command forced the mobilized men of pre-retirement age to wear body armor for six hours. In addition, the prisoner noted the poor planning of military operations by the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, before sending the military "to slaughter," they were not warned about what tasks they would need to perform.

"They gave me radiyki. They put me in an armored car and drove me somewhere far from the village. They dumped me on the highway. There was a dirt road on one side, and a railroad on the other, and they told us to go down there, and the radio operator would lead you, and we went. To the Cossack Village," said the prisoner.

The militant added that it was there that he was captured. He noted the humane attitude of Russian soldiers and commanders towards the prisoners.
