Sergei Mironov, chairman of the Fair Russia Party, will submit to the State Duma a bill proposing an increase in pensions for children who have been left without parents. This was reported on July 31 by TASS with reference to the bill.

Amendments are planned to be introduced into the federal law "On Insurance Pensions". According to the initiative, the individual pension coefficient for a child who has lost both parents should increase 1.5 times. For the children of deceased single mothers, it is proposed to increase this figure three times.

According to Mironov, at present, survivor's pensions often do not reach the minimum subsistence level. In his opinion, the approval of these changes will increase the level of social protection for orphaned children.
