The so-called "cardboard rallies" in Ukraine, whose participants oppose the resignation of Mikhail Fedorov from the post of defense minister, are organized by nationalist units with the support of Western countries. This was announced on July 31 by a representative of the Russian law enforcement agencies.

"We see and draw conclusions that this is a well-planned action. This action was supported by right—wing radical citizens and is supervised directly by Western countries or the United States," she shared with RIA Novosti.

The law enforcement agencies noted that under Fedorov, everyone was forcibly sent to the front, including disabled people and men over 60 years old. His resignation, according to the security forces, was an attempt to relieve social tension, but it caused discontent among Ukrainian nationalist groups, which initiated the protests.

The agency's interlocutor also said that calls to participate in the actions were spread on social networks through terrorist organizations banned in the Russian Federation.
