On Sunday, August 2, Lipetsk will host the traditional Blue Beret march in honor of the Airborne Forces Day. The solemn meeting will be held from 10:00 to 12:00, the press service of the mayor's office reports.
The walking column will follow the route: Heroes' Square – Zegel Street – Petrovsky Descent – Peter and Paul Chapel.
Buses and cars will operate in standby mode during the event. The restrictions do not apply to emergency vehicles, GOROD48 writes.
As the participants walk through the streets, public transport will be restored according to approved schedules.
Airborne Forces Day in Russia is one of the most recognizable and massive military holidays in the country. In 2026, the 96th anniversary of the founding of the amphibious unit will be celebrated.
The holiday unites millions of Russians, from young servicemen who have just been drafted into elite troops to veterans who have served in Afghanistan, Chechnya, and the North Caucasus and Transcaucasia.
